What a view-once video is

It's a video that behaves like a view-once photo: it opens a single time and disappears. Unlike a regular WhatsApp send, the file isn't saved to the gallery, doesn't go to cloud backups and can't be replayed.

After the first play, the file is removed from storage. Not even the sender can watch the video again — only the viewed status stays in your history.

How to send it step by step

The flow is the same as for photos, audio and text, with nothing to install.

• At the content step, choose the Video option.
• Upload an MP4, WebM or MOV file, or record on the spot with your phone camera — up to 25 MB and 30 seconds.
• Pick the delivery channel: WhatsApp, anonymous SMS (Brazil) or email.
• Optionally, add a short message that goes along with the link and helps the person understand what they're receiving.
• Pay with Pix or card and the link is delivered right away.

What the recipient gets

The recipient only receives the link and your presentation message — the video never appears in WhatsApp, the SMS or the email. On opening, a notice makes it clear the content will be shown only once.

On the playback screen, the player has no download button and the page blocks right-click, drag and save. A countdown shows the remaining time within the 24 hours, with an option to destroy the video immediately.

Video limits and rules

The limit is 25 MB and 30 seconds per send, in MP4, WebM and MOV formats. Larger files need to be trimmed or compressed before sending.

The send expires in 24 hours: if nobody opens it in that window, the video is destroyed the same way. Since videos are larger files, they carry a small surcharge compared to photo and text — the same price as audio.

View-once video is perfect for messages that need image and voice together: a surprise, a quick explanation, a delicate confirmation or any moment that shouldn't stay recorded in a conversation.
