WhatsApp has its own view-once feature, but it always goes out from your number. If the point is to leave no trail, the answer is to send a single-open link created outside the app.
Using WhatsApp's built-in feature
To use view once inside the app:
- Open the chat and tap the clip or camera icon.
- Pick the photo or take the shot.
- Tap the icon with the number 1 in the preview.
- Send. The photo disappears from the chat once opened.
The limit of that route
The photo goes out from your number, with your name and profile picture. The app also has no view once for audio, and you get no clear record of when the content was seen.
How to send view once anonymously
Here you create the single-open content first and deliver the link afterwards. Pick the WhatsApp channel and the link goes through your WhatsApp; pick anonymous SMS and the recipient gets it with no reference to your number.
